Dr. Ning Xu is an associate professor and PhD supervisor in the Department of Landscape Architecture, School of Architecture, Southeast University, China. She is a joint doctoral candidate from the Federal Institute of Technology in Zurich, a national first-class registered architect, and also serves as a committee member of the Academic Committee on Environmental Behavior of the Chinese Architecture Society, an executive member of the Rural Art Construction Special Committee of the National Rural Construction University Alliance, etc. She mainly engages in teaching, research and practical work in the fields of landscape architecture planning and design, urban public space planning and design, digital landscape methods and technologies, etc. 

Hosted 3 projects funded by the National Natural Science Foundation of China, 1 sub project of the National Key Research and Development Program, and 1 project funded by the Chinese Doctoral Program. Editor in Chief of Urban Open Space Research Series, published 2 monographs and 1 translated work. Published over 40 academic papers, authorized and accepted 11 patents. 

She has led and participated in over 40 urban and rural planning and design projects, and has won the second prize of Science and Technology Progress Award from the Ministry of Education, the first prize of Excellent Survey and Design from the Ministry of Education, and the first prize of Excellent Survey and Design from the Jiangsu Urban and Rural Construction System, etc.

The micro course Materials and Spatial Intentions in Landscape Architecture Design won the first prize in Jiangsu Province and the second prize in the second National Micro Course Teaching Competition for Universities in China. Participated in the compilation of the national textbook Green Urban Design. Guide students to win more than 10 domestic and international awards, including the ASLA Honor Award and the Silver Award of the Chinese Academy of Human Settlements Design. Guide multiple national level SRTP projects to achieve excellent or good results. Participated in the construction of national first-class undergraduate courses, participated in 6 provincial and ministerial level educational reform projects, and won the third prize for provincial teaching achievements.
